"It ain't what you don't know that gets you in trouble.
Its what you know for sure that just ain't so." Mark Twain
If you are Christian, Matthew chapter seven is very interesting. Jesus begins, “Judge not, that you be not judged.”
Think about judgement as being brain programming. Your spirit controls the programming. Or your spirit can allow the programming to continue. Let me give you an example.
My wife asked me to pick up something from a store on my way home from work. I passed the store and did not remember until I saw my garage door. I started the “go home” program in my brain and let it run.
I have done something similar going from home to work. I think it must happen to all of us.
What about thoughts? Do you have a running conversation going in your mind? Does it run out of control? Are you aware that you could stop it?
Judgement is programming. As spirit, you can stop the programming. Where did you get the programming?
We probably start with some. Research has shown that mice can inherit fear. Male mice were given a small electric shock while being exposed to the smell of acetophenone. The mice would eventually shudder at the smell of the acetophenone without the shock. No surprises there for most of us. The surprise comes when the offspring of the mice also shudder when exposed to the smell with no previous exposure to acetophenone or electric shock. The experiment has been done with female mice too. The brains of the experimental mice have more odor receptors.
If mice inherit some basic fears from their parents, what about people? Do we also inherit responses to our environment from our parents? Are our judgements inherited? Sounds a lot like Genesis Chapter 3 that I described in another post.
Think about after we are born. All of our experiences contribute to the programming of our brains. We are taught what to think and how to act. It takes spiritual effort to change the programming.
What about your religious programming? We are programmed to go to church. We are programmed how to pray. Those are judgements. They must be overcome.
Matthew 7:21 Jesus said, “Not every one who says to me, ‘Lord, Lord’ shall enter the kingdom of heaven, but he who does the will of my Father who is in heaven. On that day many will say to me, ‘Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in your name, and cast out demons in your name, and do many mighty works in your name?’ And then will I declare to them, ‘I never knew you; depart from me, you evildoers.’”
Was Jesus saying to do the will of your Father by taking control of your programming and not judging? When you question your programming, what you already believe to be true, your judgements, you are being a child of God and your Father can take control.
