Last Friday, my neighbor, Peter, and I went on his boat to check crab pots. He and his wife had put the pots in the water on Thursday. His wife used Peter’s phone to take a picture of the coordinates on the GPS. He just followed the coordinates to find the pots. We looked and looked. We motored up to pots that weren’t his motored away then would come back to check the same pots.
I asked him if he had any other pictures on his phone. Maybe the picture is from a different trip. He looked and that was the only possibility. Finally, he decided we just had to give up. Perhaps somebody had stolen them.
On the ride back to the marina, I saw some buoys in the distance. I asked Peter, “Do you want to check those?” I was a little surprised when he turned the boat to look. I really thought he’d given up.
When we got to the buoys, he was quite excited. “These are ours. Thanks for saying something.”
“It ain’t what you don’t know that gets you into trouble. It’s what you know for sure that just ain’t so,” Mark Twain.
When we got home Peter’s wife asked to look at his phone. He had been looking at the wrong picture. She had taken a picture of the dash. He would have to blow it up to see the coordinates. The picture that he was looking at only showed the GPS.
It was a simple mistake. I had challenged him. He had looked at the pictures, but he didn’t go far enough. He didn’t check the pictures to see what they were. He just looked at the thumbnails.
A question that began a lot of changes for me was: What if everything I know is wrong? By that time I had completed a BA in chemistry, MBA, and Doctor of Chiropractic. I knew a lot that could be wrong. I had a lot to give up.
The second question then came to me. If everything I know is wrong, where do I start? The answer came immediately. Start with Universal Intelligence – the Creator.
I soon saw a medium and met my spirit guides. I met someone who was telepathic and became a good friend. I was given books and met others on similar journeys.
None of that would have happened if I thought I knew everything and had refused to have the experiences.
