You Do Not Need Salvation, Follow Jesus to Become a Christian
What does the Bible really say?
In a previous post on religion, I pointed out that Adam and Eve were not the first people created according to the Bible. Then, in another post, I pointed out that the knowledge of good and evil was false knowledge. Adam and Eve thought being naked was evil, yet God had not provided clothes. Being naked was not evil according to God. Adam and Eve falsely thought being naked was evil. That judgement created evil in their minds and caused them to hide from God.
If we are to believe the story and think it through, it is our judgement that creates our separation from God. We cannot determine what God believes to be good or evil. We cannot judge.
Preachers say that Adam and Eve were expelled from Eden because of their disobedience and sin nature. They say God cannot tolerate sin. However, as we saw in the earlier post, the expulsion from Eden was an act of grace not punishment.
Now, if we move to Chapter 4 of Genesis, we have the story of Cain and Able. The story is familiar, and I will not attempt to interpret it. I merely wish to point out that God talked with Cain and Able after they had been born outside the Garden of Eden. The idea that God refuses to communicate with us because of Adam’s sin is not supported by reading the Bible.
By Genesis Chapter 4, careful reading of the Bible shows that the foundation of salvation theology is false. We do not need a savior to restore our relationship to God. We need to give up our judgements of good and evil and allow God’s presence into our lives.
Once seen properly, Jesus did not die for your sins. He lived to teach you that you are more than just a body. You are a duality. You are a child of God. You have a physical body.
With those ideas as a base for Christianity, we can look at the teachings of Jesus in a different light. Many Christians focus on the last two weeks of the life of Jesus. They focus on the teaching of Paul and our salvation through the blood of Jesus on the cross. They nearly ignore what Jesus taught while alive.
Let us become true Christians and focus on the teaching of Jesus. We will focus on love, grace, and giving up false judgement.
